Martin Duda is a Czech film director, artist, animator, screenwriter, visual effects specialist and creator of digital art content.
Martin's work is characterized by a sensitive interconnection of the animated and real world, digital animation with a human touch. He fell into the animation at an early stage of "pixelart" on historic 286 computers and the very first animation software in early 90s. During his design studies at High school of Art and Design in Brno, he was a pioneer of school 3D visualization. During his studies at the FAMU Film Academy, he mastered both classical 2D/3D animation, and film-trick 3D post-production, compositing, feature film and work with actors.
In 2007, he completed his studies by graduating at the Department of Animated Film at FAMU in Prague. His bachelor's film “The Contact” was shortlisted in the Cinefondation section at the Cannes Film Festival, won 1st place in the international competition Future: Imprint in Taipei, Taiwan, won the main prize of the International Kinoproba Festival in Ekaterinburg, Russia and more.
His graduate sci-fi film “I am Bigger and Better” was nominated for the Student Oscar in the USA in 2008, later film was selected for the official selection of the Karlovy Vary Film Festival and others.
Since 2013, he has been actively involved in his animated project “The Great Adventures of Rosa and Dara”, produced by Bionaut film company. In 2015, the pilot movie “The Great Holiday Adventures of Rosa and Dara” was released in theaters. It won the Special Jury Prize on the Seoul International Cartoon & Animation Festival in South Korea and was sold to more than 20 world TV territories and became part of the Netflix channel. Several shorter educational webisodes, and an illustrated book were created. Since 2018 a new animated feature film “Rosa & Dara and their great summer adventure” is in production process.
Since 2015, Martin has been a member of the ASAF - Animated Film Association. In 2016, he was a member of jury at the international competition at Seoul ICAF, in South Korea. During his advertising work, he has created commercials for companies such as Unilever, Nestlé, REWE Group, Samsung, Skoda, Telefonica O2, GE, PETA, Ahold, Erste, Heineken, T-Mobile and many others.
